Progress update

The welding is coming along. I try to get in some shop time every day but I seem to make it downstairs about every other day. Before I can weld a joint I have to miter a tube so I'm also getting plenty of practice with that. A good lesson was learned Wednesday night. I tacked up a nice tightly fit miter in only two spots instead of four. After a nice clean 90° weld I looked at the opposite side of the tube and discovered that welding had opened up a gap. Rather than try to cold set the tube back into place I tried to weld it as it was. The result was that I burned through the end of the tube; no surprise, but I had to try.
